He is saved by a Kansei University student Haiji, who is also a runner. Kakeru, a former elite runner at high school, is chased for stealing food. So far, I have to say I’m enjoying it and I definitely don’t consider myself a fujoshi, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. If you love sports anime and lots of guy on guy interaction, well, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru has you covered. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru tends to leave us with many funny but awkward nude moments for the guys, and there’s almost always a bath scene in each episode it seems. It feels similar to anime like Battery, but of course, the anime resembles many other all boys sports anime like Haikyuu!!, Free!, Kuroko no Basuke, and Prince of Stride (minus the girl). We have our two main characters, Haiji and Kakeru, who take on the roles of the overzealous athlete and the disillusioned athlete. Think of it like the Boston Marathon where people have to compete in qualifiers and train really hard in order to participate. Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru is all about getting a team of runners together in an effort to participate in a big race in Hakone, the Hakone Ekiden. Time for our ‘sport’ anime of the season, Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru! While I don’t really watch sports anime for the ship, I can appreciate them for the camaraderie.
